Upcoming meeting!

The Woodridge Village Board will be holding a special meeting on Thursday, July 10th at 6pm.

At this meeting, staff and the planning team will provide an update on Phase 2 of the Comprehensive Plan process: Visioning.

The team will present a summary of recent engagement efforts, including the Visioning Open House and an online survey, both of which gathered public feedback on early draft design concepts and the draft planning framework. This feedback will directly inform refinements to ensure the Plan reflects the community’s vision and priorities for the future of Woodridge.

During the meeting, we will review:

  • The draft opportunity area concepts

  • The draft planning framework

  • A summary of community input and survey feedback gathered to date

Over the past few months, our team has been diligently working on the Existing Conditions Report for the Woodridge Growing Forward comprehensive planning process. This report serves as a foundational body of knowledge and assessment, providing a detailed understanding of where Woodridge stands today.

Welcome to the Woodridge Comprehensive Plan website!

The Village of Woodridge is in the process of creating a new, forward-thinking and sustainable Comprehensive Plan: Woodridge Growing Forward. This plan will serve as a roadmap to a more vibrant and thriving future, focusing on land use and economic development strategies throughout the Village and its future planning boundaries.

The purpose of the plan is to work with the community to set a shared vision for the development of key sites. It will also assess current community needs and market trends to determine future land use decisions. The plan will also establish a framework for branding and placemaking along main corridors, ensuring that Woodridge has a clear identity.

What is a Comprehensive Plan?

A comprehensive plan is a community’s big-picture guide for the future. It helps places like Woodridge decide how to grow, improve, and take care of the needs of everyone who lives and works there. The comprehensive plan looks at what the community wants to be in the future and then lays out steps to get there, so it grows in a smart, organized way that benefits everyone. What’s next?

  • We will host a community open house where we will present our initial findings and work together to envision the future. Community participation will be encouraged through interactive activities. This event is intended to reintroduce the planning process to the Woodridge community and offer a relaxed platform for discussing the village’s planning challenges and opportunities, as well as the community’s visions for the future in a “Speak-Out” format.

  • Look for a Woodridge Growing Forward table at future community events! Throughout the planning process we will pop-up around the community with plan information and interactive activities.
